Virginia Giuffre’s Death Sparks Renewed Focus on Epstein Case Survivors: Attorney Josh Schiffer Speaks Out

Virginia Giuffre Dies at 41: Survivors and Advocates Honor Her Legacy

Family confirmed she took her own life at her farm in Western Australia, stating, “the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight.” Giuffre, a survivor and advocate, was described by her family as “a fierce warrior” and “a light that lifted so many survivors.” She is survived by her three children, Christian, Noah, and Emily.

Her lawyer, Sigrid McCawley, called her “a dear friend” and “an incredible champion for other victims.” Dini von Mueffling, a spokesperson for Giuffre’s foundation, described her as “deeply loving, wise, and funny.”

Josh Schiffer, a lawyer for one of Epstein’s victims, said Giuffre’s bravery inspired his client and many others. “Her willingness to publicly shine a light on these crimes gave many survivors the strength to seek justice, and she leaves behind an undeniable legacy of courage,” Schiffer said. “Virginia’s legacy is a movement towards accountability and hope, and her spirit will continue to inspire those still fighting.”

Police responded to a call at her home and confirmed her death is not being treated as suspicious, although an investigation will occur. Earlier, Giuffre had mentioned on social media that she had only days to live after a traffic collision.

Giuffre had alleged she was recruited by Ghislaine Maxwell at Mar-a-Lago in 2000 and was sexually exploited by Epstein and associates. She filed a civil lawsuit against Epstein in 2009 and against Prince Andrew in 2021, which was settled in 2022. Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years for sex trafficking in 2022. Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial.
